Description: Identify and provide information about various items representing evidence that was left behind by some living thing.
Number of Participants: 2
Competition: 1. Teams move from station to station.
2. Items are displayed with questions to be answered about them.
3. Items may include, but are not limited to: footprints; tracks; tire tracks; animal scat; fur; chewed sticks and nuts; horns; antlers; slime trails; remains left from an animal which was devoured; scents.
4. Teams identify what went by and, perhaps, answer a question about it.
5. Examples of questions: a. Is it the left or right foot, the front or the back? b. In what direction was it moving? c. What happened at this site? [bird of prey captured it].
6. Items are limited to things from Ohio.
7. One point is awarded for each correct identification and one point for each correct answer.
Scoring: Teams with the most points will be ranked highest.
Tie Breaker: Team with the greatest number of identifications spelled correctly.
