1. The team should be able to:
a. Distinguish between rotation and revolution
b. Arrange a group of celestial bodies according to relative sizes from largest to smallest
c. Arrange a group of celestial bodies according to their distances from either the sun or earth
d. Demonstrate knowledge about the celestial sphere and the following: zenith, nadir,
horizon, four compass directions, ecliptic, celestial equator, meridian, north/south
celestial pole
e. Demonstrate knowledge about the objects in the solar system
f. Know the moon phases and length of a moon rotation and revolution
g. Know the difference between a galaxy, star, solar system, universe, planet
h. Know the difference between asteroids, comets, planets, dwarf planets
2. Teams may be shown photographs, diagrams, or star maps and asked to identify indicated stars and constellations, and other solar system objects.

c. Zodiac Constellations
d. Summer Triangle: Vega, Deneb, Altair
